I have been going to Sequoia Dental for 15+ years and they are absolutely the best in Visalia. Dentists used to give me anxiety – now I actually look forward to my cleanings.

Don’t give up hope! Call us today at 559-608-3533 to schedule your complimentary consultation or second opinion. Our expert dentists want to give you the help you need.
Your temporomandibular joints are situated on either side of your head, controlling your jaws and allowing you to open and close your mouth. For reasons that researchers still don’t fully understand, these joints can become irritated and inflamed. This causes a great deal of pain when your jaw moves.
However, we offer hope for your aching jaw using a custom oral appliance.
In addition, the device will also prevent you from grinding your teeth while sleeping. Left untreated, teeth grinding can damage your tooth enamel, requiring restorative or cosmetic dental treatments to repair. Since teeth grinding is also a major cause of tension headaches, our targeted treatment will help you experience fewer and less-intense headaches as well.

Sequoia Dental is my favorite dentist I’ve been to. I’ve been coming to this dentist for over 15 years and I have always felt so welcomed and safe here.

There are many reasons why I have been a client here since they opened up in the 90s. Very friendly and professional at what they do. Im treated like family here and that includes newer staff. Thanks Sequoia Dental for top of the line dental services.
I had an excellent first experience as a patient at Sequoia Dental. The practice is large, very well organized, and I was very pleased with the treatment, Which was surprisingly painless. I will be back next month for a follow up.

Excellent service. The Hygienist did an excellent job in taking care of my dental needs . Very professional .
I absolutely recommend sequoia dental. All staff from the front office to the drs are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. My personal experience having my wisdom teeth removed was exceptional. I did not feel one ounce of pain throughout the whole procedure. I didn’t even feel the needle used to numb my mouth. The dentist took his time to make sure I was comfortable and completely numb. However the process was fast and I drove home with a smile on my face.
It’s possible, yes. Inflammation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) can lead to pain in the surrounding muscles of the head and neck, which can be misinterpreted as migraines. By wearing a mouthguard, you can alleviate the pain caused by TMJ inflammation and potentially experience relief from headaches.
We understand you want to end the pain caused by a TMJ disorder as soon as you can. The truth is that treatment can take weeks or months depending on the severity of your situation and what needs to be done. For most patients, an oral appliance is the perfect solution in and of itself. For others, orthodontics or restorations may be needed to realign teeth to reduce grinding for the long term.
Signs of a TMJ disorder may include jaw pain, clicking or popping sounds when chewing, difficulty opening the mouth completely, facial pain, headaches, and ear pain or ringing. Some people may also experience neck and shoulder pain or toothaches unrelated to dental problems. Also, your jaw may feel locked or stuck. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is important to visit our practice for help.
